On January 22nd, 1988, out from the womb a slime covered baby popped into existence. Turns out, that baby was a boy and was then named after Eric Clapton and Dustin Hoffman (Eric Dustin Dyer). An artist of epic proportions had been created. Eric currently resides in San Francisco, California. This is his life.

For those of you who know me, you will be aware by now that my ambition is unlimited. You know that I will settle for nothing short of greatness… or I will die trying.

quote

Do you remember when I was weak from hunger, and I ate those ants? That got me thinking, if I hadn’t eaten them, I’d have died. Then I would have been eaten by them. I’d go into the earth and become grass, and the rabbits would eat that.

A long time ago this island was probably at the bottom of the sea. In tens of thousands of years from now, it could be a mountain for all we know. Everything we see, everyone we meet, is caught up in a great unseen flow. But it’s bigger than that. It’s the entire world, the entire universe even! And compared to as something as big as that, you and I are tiny. Not even the size of ants. We are only one small part in the much greater flow. Nothing more than a fraction of the whole. But by putting all of those ones together, you get one great all.

The flows of this universe follows laws of such magnitude, that you and I can’t even imagine them.

OK Go - Needing/Getting - Official Video

The new music video from OK Go, made in partnership with Chevrolet. OK Go set up over 1000 instruments over two miles of desert outside Los Angeles. A Chevy Sonic was outfitted with retractable pneumatic arms designed to play the instruments, and the band recorded this version of Needing/Getting, singing as they played the instrument array with the car. The video took 4 months of preparation and 4 days of shooting and recording. There are no ringers or stand-ins; Damian took stunt driving lessons. Each piano had the lowest octaves tuned to the same note so that they’d play the right note no matter where they were struck. For more information and behind-the-scenes footage, see http://www.LetsDoThis.com and http://www.okgo.net. Many thanks to Chevy for believing in and supporting such an insane and ambitious project, and to Gretsch for providing the guitars.
